Statement on the departure of Nick von Westenholz as CEO of the Crop Protection Association

“It is with regret that I have to announce that Nick von Westenholz has decided to leave his position as Chief Executive at the Crop Protection Association to take up the newly created role of Director of EU Exit and International Trade at the NFU. He will start this new challenge in January 2017, so will continue full time in his current role at the CPA until the end of this year.

“Nick has been at the CPA since January 2013 and has made a significant and valuable contribution in modernising the organisation and leading the team in these changing and challenging times. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Nick for his accomplishments and wish him well at the NFU.

“We will start the search for his successor immediately, and I am pleased the organisation is in excellent shape which will ensure any disruption from the transition to new leadership will be minimised.”

Gary Mills-Thomas

On behalf of the CPA Board

“While this is a very exciting opportunity for me at such a crucial point in time for UK agriculture, it is with considerable regret that I am leaving the CPA. I am proud of the work we have done since I joined the Association 4 years ago, which is in no small measure due to the dedication of the team here at CPA, the engagement of CPA members in the collective interests of the wider industry, and the excellent relationships we have enjoyed with many individuals and organisations in the farming, food and environmental sectors.”
